We love hosting weddings in our Penthouse, overlooking Lake Union and Gas Works Park. Our space can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests for a seated dinner and ceremony in multiple different layouts. Our typical layout uses round tables throughout the room. Using one long oval table our maximum capacity is 28 guests. A larger single table can be rented for up to 40 guests. The additional cost is approximately $800. Aside from the dining tables, we’ll provide a 6x2’ ironed table for your guest book and other items. A 2x2’ table can be added to the room for the cake or other items if needed.

Emma Holmgren, our Private Events Manager, will work directly with you to plan all the details of your evening. You may set up the room and decorate the day of the event between 11:00am and 3:00pm. We ask that you and your party leave the room from 3:00pm to 5:00pm while our team sets up. Canlis opens at 5:00pm. Your guests are welcome to arrive at that time and the room is yours for the evening. On the evening of your wedding, one of our lead servers will be in charge of facilitating your dinner service.

In order to create a magical experience for you and your guests, there is an additional $750 fee for weddings.

We welcome a couple’s first dance, but no other dancing is permitted as it is disruptive to the guests in the main dining room below.

Weather and availability permitting, you may request to have photos taken on the roof or in the wine cellar. All requests should be given to the Private Events team prior to your event. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate more than four to five people in these spaces.

We have an intimate room, located just off the Penthouse behind the bar. We call it the Caché. This may be used as a private space for the wedding couple to stow away for a few moments throughout the evening. The Caché must be booked at least four months in advance. There is a $1,500 charge to reserve the room.

If you would like to hire a pianist for the evening, there is a baby grand piano in the room that may be used. You may connect your personal device to play your own playlist in the overhead speakers. Alternatively, you may connect to what will be playing in the main dining room below: a playlist created by KEXP and the live piano music from the Lounge downstairs.

Canlis does not offer cakes, but you are welcome to bring your own cake. If you choose to enjoy your cake in addition to the dessert included in our 3 course meal, there is a cake cutting fee of an additional $4 per person. If you choose to go without our dessert, this fee is waived.

We can provide a 2-course, 30-minute meal for up to four vendors supporting your ceremony at $85 per person. These meals must be scheduled at a specific time before or during the event. The dining location within the restaurant will depend on the space availability the night of.
